Hmmmm..Should sleeping babies be left asleep

Yesterday I was soo tired I wanted just a little more sleep in the morning, Rylan was wide awake so we got up ........Today I am up and ready to start the day (we are going to town) And Rylan is still sleeping it funny how that works.
I am thinging about waking him up..... The plan for the day is I feed Rylan his first morning feed then take my show and get ready to go then when I start his second morning feed wake up daddy the we can leave soon as Rylans done and i don't have to feed him in wal-mart ...Oh Andrew is getting ready now ...I think I am hearing wake up sounds on the moniter so I will sign off for now ........Nope he is still sleeping This is what he looks like swaddled up in his little bed



We are buying air conditioner today for our bedroom. Its too hot to swaddle Rylan for naps and I am keeping him up late waiting for it to cool down so I can swaddle him at night..with legs out so he dosen't get overheated. He won't sleep well unless he is swaddled..Then after we falls asleep is cools off and his legs get cold I don't want him to get over heated because ther is a higer risk of SIDS when babies get to hot.... Anyways the new air conditoner will solve the problem...

Middle of the night happenings

Last night Rylan and I went to bed about 9 well him 9 me 9:30....This was after a nap That went from 6 pm till 8 pm .....Rylan slept till 2 am so I fed him changed him and put him back in his bassinet about 2:30 .........

He didn't want to sleep and kept fidgeting, so I went over to get him and just as I did he spit up a bunch of milk looked like he was gonna choke on it I flipped him over and he was fine ( I hate the "only sleep on their back rule" for this reason) then I moved him over to Randys side of the bed and he spit up a little more I then tucked him in on my side so I could change his sheets and blankets in his bed....When i was done and went to get him he had somehow pee'd up his backside and soaked his special swaddle blanket and our bed ..OMG he dosen't sleep well if not swaddled and i am no good at swaddleing with a regular blanket I should of just put his blanket int he wash right then but i thought he would fall back asleep ....

When Randy got home a little after 3 we tried putting Ryaln to bed he wasn't going for it....so Daddy held him for a while then put on his birdie light show with some shadow hand puppets curtasy of daddy for Rylan to watch while he drifted off to sleep did it work nope so into bed he came with us ..Randy held him a while with the fiber optics light flowers on Rylan loves those but he still didn't want to go to sleep He wasn't crying just wide eyed awake and not wanting to be alone finally at around 5:30 I took him and he nursed himself to sleep then at 6:30 Randy and I thought it would be safe to move him back to his bed NOPE no such luck he woke up as soon as I layed him down so back to bed with us I nursed him back to sleep and he slept til 9:30.........What a night ....

Today I get to wash our sheets and top blanket 2 months ago I would of never slept in a pee'd bed but last night I was too tired to worry about it the pee spot was only about the size of a salad plate and we only have one set of good sheets...... I hate our others I think on our next paycheck I am going to get us another good set of sheets... I am just thankful it wasn't a overfowing poopy diaper.....

ON A BETTER NOTE
Rylan smiled at Randy last night and smiled at me again this morning his smile is so sweet I can't wait to get a picture of it ......

He SMILED at me today !!!

This morning after I tried to lay him down for his morning nap that he didn't want to fall asleep for...I got him up and laid him in his playpen with Andy while I started some laundry when I came back and talked to him he smiled at me I said "OMG did you really mean to do that" and then he smiled again so I guess it really was a real smile.... I am so excited it was so cute :-)

Its also Rylans 1 month birthday today!!!

Raggedy Andy

Rylan is so alert now its amazing watching the changes he is making Now that I am a older mom and really know how fast they grow up I am really paying attention to every new thing Rylan does from the fact that not every single diaper is poopy now like it has been since he was born to how he hoots like a monkey when he know I am about to feed him now….

He has found a new love we discovered the other night when I laid him in his crib while I folded his clothes……. Its raggedy Andy the one his Aunt Cathy made for him and gave me at my baby shower it works better than his pacifier for nap time and he fusses less while changing his diaper if Andy is there…. I swear he is going to smile at that doll before daddy and me that’s how smitten he is with him ………..



Actually I did get a smile the other day but I am not sure if he meant to do it or if it was just one of the gassy smiles he was looking right at me when he did it but he hasn’t done it since so I don’t think it really was his first smile……He is getting soo close though I can tell especially when he is looking at Andy



Today he didn’t want to take a nap till 3 in the afternoon it was anursing marathon day again he wanted to nurse from 7 am till he finally took his nap I think he was gassy though not the smily gassy either He fell asleep after his mylicon gas drops which I also spilled on the carpet so Randy gets to get out the carpet shampooer tonight……..

I was also able to nap for about anhour and a half after I woke up I made some potato salad and have ribs boiling for the bar-b q right now waiting for Rylan to wake up…I start missing him when he sleeps for more that 3 hours its almost 7 so I think he will be waking up soon That’s my update for now ………

Happy Birthday Mindi !!!

Today is Mindis 23rd birthday Wow We are having a party at the park for her tomarrow....

Rylan had a much better night and morning this morning I tried nursing him in the rocker rather that the bed and burped him every 10 minutes he dosen't seem to be as farty this morning...This morning he watched some of his baby einstien DVD and also layed in his crib watching his mobil while I went through his dresser and pulled out his too small clothes. Then he went down for a nap at noon he is sleeping as I write...I also got my shower in right after I laid him down.....

he has the newborn baby rash on his forehead and now on his cheeks I looked up info on it and found out it could last for a few months he is still the most beautiful baby in the world I will try to get a good picture of it today ....

Hungry or Just Lonesome

Rylan nursed today from 3 o'clock AM till 4 in the afternoon pretty much non stop...This morning at 5 am I was walking out of the bedroom because he was wide awake and he vomited scared me to death I woke up Randy and we changed him and stayed up and watched him and I nursed him as he was being fussy he didn't vomit anymore through out the day but spit up more than usual poor baby....

Finallt at about 4 pm we all headed back to the bedroom so I could nurse laying down and Rylan could fall asleep he finally did at about 5 pm and I got a much needed nap myself ....I woke at 6 pm and Rylan woke at 7 pm me and randy watched him wake up and it was soo cute he would start stirring and streching very cute ....Well he is starting to fuss somemore so I am signing off........

Choices

Rylan likes to be held alot and I love holding him he is so beautiful and he is so much more alert these days....He sleeps great at night only needing to eat every 3 to 4 hours, but in the daytime its a different story....If we are in the car or him in his stroller he will sleep from about 11 am till about 4, but if we are home he wants to eat every hour so I nurse and daddy burps then its time that he wants to eat again.....Well I say eat but its really just laching on and wanting to sleep in my arms....Yesterday after a all day marathon I told him he was cut off for a while....Daddy took over with the rocking, walking and pacifier and toy that lights up on the ceiling oh and some milocon gas drops and wouldn't you know it he got our little guy to sleep in like 10 minutes and he slept till 3 am.......So during the day when Rylan will lay down for his short little naps I have to make a choice of what I want to do heres my choices

4 play with the 500 pictures of Rylan on the computer
5 catch up on emails
6 thank-you cards
7 do Rylans birth annoucements

Thank goodness Randy doesn't mind doing house work I have actually done a few things but Randy is the one keeping up the dishes and laundry .....Thats about it for today......

2 week check-up yesterday

Rylan had his 2 week check-up yesterday he now weighs 9lbs 6oz and is 20 1/2 inches long .....We walked around town for a little while after his doctors appoitment it felt good to get out....I am tired tonight but want to post some of the pictures we have been taking

Rylan James is already 12 days old Time seems to be moving so fast now that our little guy is here...We are having a great time taking care of him The sleepless nights are a welcome joy.....So far he hates getting his diaper changed and loves to nurse sometimes for 4 or 5 hours at a time...last night we introduced him to a paci and he will only take it from daddy and if he is really hungry forget it he want the real thing .....Today he peed on mommy for the 5th time but mostly just hit him self poor little guy was soooo mad like i said he hates getting his diaper changed and thats he was of showing it I think LOL .....I am still trying to get his birthstory togeter to post but just haven't done it ....getting ready for bed now ..will write more soon ......Oh yea he lost his umbillical cord yesterday....
